Meet Your Coach: Megan York

For years, I struggled with my health and body in ways I didn’t fully understand. Living with Hashimoto’s, I was caught in an exhausting cycle of dieting, frustration, and low energy. Nutrition didn’t feel easy—there was so much conflicting information online, and I didn’t know where to start.


I was constantly chasing quick fixes. I tried everything—low-fat diets, extreme calorie restriction, fat burners, the cabbage soup diet, fasting to the point of pain, even cooking meat in water to avoid fats. My only focus was weight loss, specifically getting a flat stomach, no matter the cost. I believed I needed to work out 5-6 days a week, punish myself with cardio and HIIT, and eat as little as possible.


It wasn’t sustainable, and it wasn’t working.


My cravings were unbearable. I’d try to be “perfect” during the week, but the second I slipped up, I’d throw in the towel and start over next Monday. I’d eat donuts every morning or grab snacks for comfort after work, feeling out of control. I never felt full—no matter how much I ate.


My energy was non-existent, especially by the end of the day when my kids needed me most. I felt like I was failing in every way—my health, my family, and myself.


Looking back, I can see how much I misunderstood my body. I didn’t realize that my body needed more than punishment—it needed support.


It wasn’t until I began to truly educate myself, heal my relationship with food, and learn how to care for my body that things started to change. I learned how to eat for energy and nourishment, not just weight loss. I discovered the power of walking, eating enough protein, and managing my stress response. I stopped chasing the impossible idea of perfection and started focusing on what was sustainable and effective.


Today, I’m healthier, stronger, and more balanced than I ever thought possible—and I’ve made it my mission to help other women do the same.
